Has anyone ever installed the Door Steward product on their PA28, or seen one installed somewhere? Any opinions on whether it's a good mod to make?

It's been breezy the last few times I've flown, and the door's gotten away from the passenger once or twice. Nothing like seeing the door get caught by the wind and whipped around, and not be able to do anything about it!

I like the idea of a damper on the door, but a couple of things concern me:
- What if the door "pops open" in flight? Is this cylinder strong enough to push the door open more than it would normally be from the slipstream Bernoulli effect? Does it make it any harder to get the door closed?
- Was installation any problem? Fit-and-finish of final configuration nice and clean?
- Are the cylinders standard parts that can be easily found at an auto parts store?

I've seen folks on Bonanza and Cessna forums rave about this thing, but the Piper world is strangely silent. Would sure like to hear from at least one person who's seen one of these on a PA28 and can provide a PIREP.

Thanks,
Jim
