So, I just purchased an IFR Transplant KLN89B system, I know, I know the Garmins are pretty but this gets me legal and was only slightly higher than the DME Option and any WAAS system was out of my budget.
Now while they're in there I have a KX170B tied to a VOR indicator (Not sure of the model number but no GS or nothing fancy like that). Sooo. I was thinking about it and can't figure out any reason to keep the VOR attached to the 170B? So I was thinking of selling the 170B w/ the indicator and maybe tossing in a cheap flip flop radio as a backup? Any objections?
