Could this be a fuel valve issue?

The plane is a '65 PA32-260. We flew all day yesterday with no issues. Landed, fueled mains to the tabs and tips to the top. Came out to the hangar this afternoon to find fuel all over the hangar floor. The left tip drained into the left main, which made it overflow the vent.

I worked the fuel selector back and forth and drained a bunch of fuel from all tanks from the sump. Everything feels normal. Put fuel back in the tip and drained the main down to the tabs and so far it does not appear to be cross feeding.

Could I have had the selector between the left tip and left main causing the cross feed? Maybe a piece of debris got into the fuel valve and running 5 gallons through the sump cleared it? Has anyone experience cross feeding like this?
