Greetings all.
O360 A1A 650ish SMOH

Twice now I have experienced what I can only describe as an engine flutter. It is brief, lasting maybe a few seconds, but just long enough to get my attention. The engine goes from ticking over like a sewing machine to a rough run, sort of like a fouled plug, but it is very brief. The first time was in a full power climb. The second time was normal cruise.

I thought a mag might be failing. I checked mags and the Surefly on the left had excessive RPM drop. Opening the gap on the plugs solved it. The Bendix on the right is working fine. I have a normal RPM drop. Inspected and tested all the plugs and plug wires, which were all good.

Thought i might have a sticky valve. I checked compression and all four are mid 70s.

Maybe a lean condition from a leaking primer?

Leaky intake?

What say you all?

Failing spark plug?

Fuel leak... sucking air?

Regards
Russ
