This reminds me of a commercial DC-9 flight I was on to a city in Upstate NY. The approach taken was steep down the side of a mountain and for some reason the aircrew had selected a downwind landing. We were way fast, and first the left main hit hard, then bounced and the right main hit hard and bounced, and finally he got both on the runway and applying maximum braking and reverse thrust, managed to stop at the extreme other end of the runway. The senior flight attendant was cool. She got on the PA and said, "Well we've FINALLY landed at XXX". Guess we've all had one like that.
