One of the plastic side yokes (connecting the headband to the earpiece) on my Bose X headset snapped in the cold Wednesday after about 15 years of good service.

I saw some online comments that Bose no longer repairs the headset, so I was relieved when I called them and they said it would be no problem. They referred me to Orest's friends at Brant Aero as their authorised Canadian repair depot, and Brant will replace the plastic yokes on both sides of the headset for CAD 111 (USD 83) plus shipping and sales tax. They say the new ones are stronger than the original parts.

I'm very happy that I can still repair it, because I was prepared either to write off the headset, or to trade in the broken one for a $300 credit against the very expensive Bose A20.

I've also ordered this from Spruce as a backup/passenger headset, so that I won't have to revert to an ultra-cheapo student PNR headset in the future like I did on Wednesday:
