I have a '73 Turbo Aztec with the TIO-540 motors. They have 300 hours after being rebuilt. The motors run great except that the EGT runs very hot. The cylinder head temps are always cool. I cannot lean the aircraft properly with out the egt temps hitting the red line. At 17,000 feet I get about 30" and 2400 rpm and burn almost 37 gph. Way too high. Any ideas?
