Since posting my N7AZ introduction, I’ve had many questions about how you put three bladed propellers on an Aztec. I bought N7AZ this way. It’s a very old STC. I have no idea if it is available anywhere today, but due to “popular request” I pulled the maintenance records and found the details for those who want to know....
As far as the claims in the article, I got my Commercial Multi in an Aztec C with two bladed props and then began flying this D model with 3 bladed props. I personally can’t see a performance difference. I do think it’s smoother and quieter and of course the ground clearance is improved. My engines do run pretty cool even in the summer...don’t know that it’s necessarily due to props but I suppose it could be.
