Any thoughts on flying during dust storm?

Other than the obvious visibility concerns, does anyone have thoughts about the downside to flying in a dust storm? Carb heat would seem to be something to avoid with the unfiltered air containing dust/sand. How about exterior finish? wind screen abrasions? Am I over thinking this as a potential issue to avoid? Thoughts? I’m in Charlotte, NC and the current dust storm is very much here. It sure makes for beautiful evening skies.
