The Archer went in for annual and a recheck of a low#2 cylinder. The recommendation after recheck (still low) was to pull the cylinder and re lap the valves. The engine is a Poplar Grove Air Motive rebuild with new Lycoming cylinders and 450 hours on it but 12 years old The cylinder was pulled and then came the worse news, the cam and lifters were bad. The question now is how to proceed. Should the engine be pulled for a complete rebuild or is just a cam and lifters replacement an acceptable repair?
