Hi guys -- new user of this forum, long-time Piper owner. We own a Pathfinder now, but have owned a Warrior and an Ercoupe in the past. Thanks, Bart, for creating this great Piper forum!
I've got just a quick announcement: After 22 months of renovations, we have created "Amelia's Landing Hotel", named after you-know-who (she got lost trying to find an island, or so I am told) -- in Port Aransas, TX on Mustang Island -- a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico off of the Texas coast. Our airport is Mustang Beach Airport, KRAS.
Our aim (as it was at our place in Iowa) is to create the ultimate pilot's destination. To that end, each of our 23 rooms is now decorated to reflect a different era of aviation history, from the Wright Brothers to the modern era. We've got every amenity imaginable, from HDTVs, to DVD players, to free movies, a pool, a hot tub, delivered breakfast, and (best of all) TWO courtesy cars for you to use when you fly in! (And if they are in use, we'll pick you up.)
Port Aransas has 24 miles of unspoiled white sand beach, plus dozens of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. It is, quite simply, heaven on earth -- and we hope to see you here soon!
