Hey all,
We recently pulled our Arrow II out of the shop after an exhaust overhaul, and noticed that our altimeter now reads about 20-30 feet lower when set correctly. Not a huge difference and definitely still within FARs, but when you're used to reading a certain altitude in the parking spot, it's noticed. I'm fairly certain that the timing with the exhaust overhaul is purely coincidental and there is likely zero connection between the two. So my question is, do altimeter's slowly go bad? This one is fairly old, not certain if it's original ('76) or not, but wouldn't surprise if it was.
The only other item of note: we did have a complete avionics/panel overhaul in March of this year, and we did notice the Kollsman knob was a bit tighter than before (new panel clearance/interference?), but it was operating normally since we had that avionics work done.
