I have a question the charging system on my twin. I'm not sure if it's an issue or not, but here goes. I have a PA31. When I taxi at idle, the bus voltage drops way down and the battery discharges (as shown on the JPI). It charges fine enroute, but on the ground, the only way I get enough power to avoid discharging the battery is to push the power up to maybe 1000 rpm and ride the brakes. Is this normal or do I have an issue? The plane is fairly new to me, and I don't recall noticing this before, but it could have just been that I was distracted by learning how to fly it properly and didn't notice. Thanks for any advice.
