I have a J-3 converted to a PA-11 configuration with pressure cowl. Oil temps have always been an issue: too cool in winter, too hot in summer. I handle the "too cool" with an oil tank blanket, but have not solved the too hot issue.

I had an oil filter installed and that helped a little. The other day with 95 degrees ambient, the oil temp was 206, still too hot. Airwolf makes what they market as an oil chiller, a ring that fits around the oil filter with fins sticking out that gives 600 square inches of cooling surface. Still, this little gem is $150 and I don't want to waste my money if it doesn't work.

Anybody tried this product?
