I thought the main reason for the cylindrical fuselage of modern aircraft involved the need to pressurize the cabin. A big cylinder with hemispherical ends is the easiest design for pressurization. Maybe they have a sub-structure under the blended one.

Also, guess there's either no windows for the pax, or (gulp) windows in the floor and ceiling. Maybe video screens instead. Then they could show in-flight videos of airplane crashes, a la' the movies in "Airplane". I'd once flown on a 747 where one channel offered was a cockpit view...really cool on final approach. But they shut that off soon after. Pilots probably weren't enthused about having pax critique their landings.
