I'm toying with the idea of *gulp* selling my Cherokee and buying a Decathlon. After nearly 24 years of flying spam cans, I'm kind of bored. While I love my airplane, I find myself flying big circles around the area more times than not just to run the engine. I don't have a lot of missions and I don't really care to go into the soup and fly hard IFR. I've booked myself some hours (in July) to get my tailwheel endorsement done. But, for my mission (local area flying and burger chasing), the Decathlon would fit the mission profile, but it would also open up a completely different type of flying that I've never been exposed to - something new. I'm craving something new. Tail wheel experience, introduction to aerobatics and more aggressive flying techniques, could really be a shot in the arm for me and put something exciting back into flying. I need to do some research first as I don't want to make any hasty decisions.
