69 Arrow front seat options

Now that the panel was completed last year I’m looking at front seat options with a new interior. This aircraft has the original low back seat frames. Will later year high back seats plug and play on the rails? A source mentioned to me that they can extend the seat back tubes (weld) thereby raising them. I haven’t heard of this before.
Does anyone have experience with this?
