1000 rpm on Start-up to Oil the Cam ??

I heard this from an engine guy at EAA. He said in the Lycoming engine with the cam on top you should momentarily go to 1000 rpm to get oil to the cam. He said after sitting for 2 weeks(+ or -) that cam will be almost bone dry. He said if you did a 800 rpm 'warm-up' there is no oil making it up to the cam, & it will be dry. Just for discussion sake, would an 800 rpm warmup, say 15w-50 oil on an 80 degree day leave the cam dry? I have not heard this tidbit before, just wondering.
