    Inadvertent flight into icing

We're talking about aircraft icing here. I'm baffled at why you feel the need to inject some kind of political spin on to this. It's really a disservice to the community here and accomplishes nothing but possibly division and/or making you feel a little better about something. It's one of the...

    Inadvertent flight into icing

I'd love to know if there is a clear answer to- where is the icing worse/more likely- bottom of cloud layer or top given all of the clouds is below freezing temp and not super cold beyond likelihood of ice formation.

For Sale 1979 Piper Dakota *Garmin Equipped* For Sale

I still get calls from Airmart about selling my plane. I wonder if they use FAA reg database and call everyone who owns a specific type they have interest in. I'm sure I called for a price on a PA32 when I was looking 6 years ago...I appreciate tenacity and suppose I need to answer and politely...

For Sale 1979 Piper Dakota *Garmin Equipped* For Sale

in today's modern era a seller needs to have a few pages of the logbooks scanned or photographed with a phone and made available to the buyer. There is really no excuse not to. It only takes a few minutes to do it. If they're not willing to do that it's also a dealbreaker for me.

what was the forecast temp at 6000 ft? if you expected IMC at 6000 and temps below freezing, you don't need a forecast for ice. I take that to BE a forecast for ice. An Airmet will only be published if the conditions are expected for a 3000 square mile area.

For Sale 1979 Piper Dakota *Garmin Equipped* For Sale

I always like browsing the market. But I don't play "call for price" game. It's a bad start when the seller doesn't respect your time enough to just list the price and makes you work for even that. No thanks!!! And on the seller end, I wouldn't want many phone calls about the price from...

    Lycoming's answer to valve-seat recession with 94UL

Maybe a good outcome is that 94UL causes problems and G100UL doesn't and we can finally just pick one next fuel that is an obvious winner and make that happen.

    Sun-N-Fun and Dynon Avionics

I know someone who could really help get the word out about a PA32 autopilot! :) I mean...if you want to sell more autopilots make the PA32 and PA28 and give me one. (provided they work as well as I hear they do!)

    Piper Arrow 3 Turbo Compression

When I hear people say "compressions are meaningless" I usually take that to mean that GOOD compressions don't mean the engine is totally fine. There can be various problems with the engine even when compressions are all above 70. I usually hear this phrase in the context of looking at...

Delta Zulu's or A30's or something else?

I have 4x A20s. Definitely sticking with them until they're all dead or something truly incredible comes along... :)

    Archer fuel management w/solution

A fuel totalizer is great. I write everything down as I switch tanks. Nothing can get bumped, moved, or forgotten.

Delta Zulu's or A30's or something else?

I tried the A30s a couple days ago and really did not like them. The sound is very tinny and things are harder to understand and music does not sound good. They feel lighter and a little more comfortable than the A20s but it's not exactly like the A20s had a comfort problem. I personally feel...

Legality of using GPS only on a VOR only approach.

If the bearing pointer and GPS don't match exactly I go with the GPS. One approach I regularly fly at my home base has the FAF at the VOR. AND it includes a 30 degree turn to the left. There's nothing like being in the cone of confusion of the VOR at the FAF and just turning on to the heading...

Legality of using GPS only on a VOR only approach.

My understanding concurs with that article that you can use GPS but must monitor the (working) VOR navaid. On a modern Efis its easy to do this with the GPS in the CDI and the VOR as a bearing pointer underneath it.

    Seeking Cherokee Six Landing Expertise

Those numbers look really good- I use the same in the pattern, maybe a little faster on downwind. I generally err on the side of being higher in the 6...not above pattern altitude but just higher on base or final..or anywhere else because it gives more options in case of problems and it is just...
