Is it common to find strut fluid slightly pooled at the base of the schrader valves when you pop off the inspection caps on either wing?

    Piper 140 Landing light Mod

Does anyone have info on a PA-28-140 cowl mod for the landing light? The mod surrounds the landing light & conforms to the cowling, where the light sits deeper inside the fiberglass ring. What’s the supposed purpose for this add on? I haven’t been able to find any info as to who sells this &...

Climb Prop vs Cruise Prop in Cherokee 180

My question would be,”what kind of flying are you doing & plan on doing”? Are you taking longer trips from point A to point B, & would like to get there quicker? Or do you like to drop into smaller airstrips with shorter runways where that climb prop would help climb out on a hot day?

Parmetheus G3 Light: Landing or Taxi?

Whelen has a new combo light in the works called the G3 Duo par 36. It’s a landing & taxi light all in one. It’s not STC approved yet but that’s coming in the near future. It’s for sale at present through Aircraft Spruce at right around $500 after shipping.

    Whelen Parmethius Landing/ Taxi Light

That’s an amazing amount of light on the runway for night landings. Would love to do that but too many other things on the to do list.

    Whelen Parmethius Landing/ Taxi Light

There are wing tips available from Knots 2U that have the option of adding two additional landing lights on your 140. The main drawback of course is $$$, plus wiring up the new lights ect. Whelen is now selling a new Parmetheus G Par 36 LED landing light that is supposed to be two & a half times...

    Fire extinguisher

Het there, Does anyone have info on how long the life span of a halon fire extinguisher should be? Mine is going on about eight years now & it appears to be fine, although appearances can be deceiving. I took it to a local business that specializes in fire safety several years ago & they didn’t...

I’ll look in aircraft spruce for the foam squares & see if anything looks doable.

    Cold winter air

The door was done awhile ago & is air tight but the wing root seal & foam blocks I hadn’t thought of. When I first owned the plane I tried to replace the wing root seal myself & didn’t have much success. I was able to fit it in place just so far & then the gap became so narrow it wouldn’t fit...

    Cold winter air

Has anyone figured out a way to keep out the cold winter air from coming into the cockpit through the center console/ trim wheel area? (1973 PA-28-140)

    Stall Switch, Lift Detector

Contact cleaner is what I revived mine with. Two years ago mine just stopped working & when I found out how much it was to replace, I decided to pull it out & spray it with WD-40 contact cleaner. It’s still working fine after two years. Make sure you mark the orientation of the stall switch...

GM, Have you ever had any issues with opposite direction traffic flying these same corridors?

    Class B comm

GM, Do you have Foreflight? If you do, go to the main screen (sectional map) & tap the drop down box in the upper left corner. At the bottom of my options list is an option for VFR Flyways. Tap that & then go to any Class B airspace & you’ll see the blue lines with directional arrows at each...

    Class B comm

If you overlay (on Foreflight) the VFR flyway chart on your sectional map you’ll see the corridors moving around KORD. One in particular starts around Gary,Indiana & goes right up the Lake Michigan coastline & down town Chicago. There are three or four other routes as well circumnavigating KORD.

    Class B comm

Yes, that’s what I’ve done in the past, regarding monitoring the CTAF for any airport I’m nearest to, & eventually my destination airport. So, this brings me to part two of my class B question. There’s a FVR flyway through KORD that would be fun to do but looking at the Flyway chart it’s...

    Class B comm

I fly into the Chicago area to a small non towered airport which is under the big class bravo airspace. Should you monitor class B’s tower frequency on a secondary channel while under their airspace?

In need of an Arm Rest

I replaced mine with the new “cup holder” arm rests, so you’re welcome to my old ones. Mine are out of a “73” PA-28-140. If you think they’ll fit, let me know, I’ll send them right out.

iPad cockpit location in Cherokee 235 and other PA28s

I have the bow tie yolks in my 140, & at first I mounted the mini 6 with the “ram mounts” on top of the bow tie center but had issues with instrument blockage, so i switched things around & came in from the bottom side of the bow tie. No problem with line of sight.
