Default Replacement PA-28-140 Throttle and Mixture Controls

I would like to replace the push-pull controls on my '65 140. I would especially like a vernier control for the mixture. Has anyone here done this project before? The replacement part numbers, as always, are confusing.

Thanks!

TylerSC I am anxious to hear how this goes. It is on my list for my 66 PA-28 140 as well. One of my A&P friends mentioned that I might have to enlarge the holes through the panel as the vernier cables may be a bit larger. A simple drilling task. Some before and after pics would be great!!

They're not cheap...but that'll get you there.

Default Replaced mine

I had my A&P replace both of mine in my '68 140/160 at my annual beginning of April, and had ordered the ones from McFarlane shown in the thread. My old throttle had been problematic since an unscheduled carb overhaul last August, and having the new one is a joy! The vernier mixture has taken a little getting used to, but having the new ones is indeed well worth it. As mentioned by someone else above, it wasn't cheap (what is in a certificated plane?) but I and my plane are both happy I did it.

Oh, yes - didn't have to enlarge the holes at all.

Replaced both with the Mcfarlane in my 64 180. about $500 for both the throttle and mixture. Easy to replace and work way better than the original 50+ year old suckers
