full power to level off altitude, but pull the prop back to 2500 at 1000 AGL mostly to keep the neighbors happy.

Another thing I'm a little curious is chts on my Cherokee 180 were very difficult to keep under 420 if the oat was 75 or higher on the ground in a climb. Chts on my arrow run about 330 is the highest I have seen. Not that in complain but what causes the cht difference

It could be anything from differences in the transducers to fuel flow and climb speed.

I always cruise climb my Arrow at 100+ knots once I am pointed in the right direction. More speed equals cooler engine.
